Cold weather and a snow day!

It has been really cold lately. Which means lots of inside time. Not to mention we have also been potty training Rylee which also limits the amount of places I go. And honestly, I get very bored of being home so much. I love going out and doing fun things with the kids but I have a harder time entertaining them when we are home so much. Sometimes it is just easier to do housework than play with the kids. But then that too gets very tedious. So this post is too show the fun things we have been doing lately (and I am a little pleased at my better attempts at being creative at home!)

This is Rylee's play-doh marshmallow that she is roasting.
Cade's play-doh ice cream truck

Track we made with various colored electrical tape

We like to play music and dance when the afternoons get slow. Rylee, of course, likes to get dressed up and then announce that she is going to the ball.

Magnet artwork Cade made all by himself.
On Thursday it was predicted that a huge snow storm was coming through. Schools, including the university were closing Wednesday night before any indication that the storm was coming. It almost lived up to its expectations. Not quite the 12'' they were predicting but plenty enough.
Cole made chocolate chip pancakes for the kids. It was fun to have him unexpectedly home.
Building with marshmallows and toothpicks. Rylee didn't get it. She just stuffed herself evident by her full cheeks.
And of course watching a movie. Perfect for cold snowy days.
The next day we played a little bit in the snow. Cole plopped Rylee into one of the snow drifts. She was pretty upset by it at first.  Then she realized she could eat the snow. Then she thought it was pretty fun.

Cade was so excited to build a snowman. Cole helped him. Cade also enjoyed eating the snow.

I believe tonight more snow is expected. So here is to another week of indoor fun!
