Accountability

I had a great week this week. Shanna came to visit! It was so much fun! But I need to go through my gazillion pictures before I post them. I want to make sure to post the best ones and I am way too tired to start that tonight so that will come soon! (hopefully tomorrow!)

So in the mean time.....

Our car window got shot out with a BB gun Friday afternoon.


My friend came to my apartment to drop something by and said she was so sorry about our window. I said, "Excuse me?" We didn't even know it had happened yet. We went running down to investigate. Cole found a BB in the car. We called the police and the apartment manager and they are in the process of trying to track down who it was. There are some kids with BB guns in the area. But really I don't think we will be able too find the culprit. Plus we live in low income housing so whoever did it most likely does not have the funds help pay. (oh and yes-we had money all set aside just waiting to fix a busted window).

But what really bugs me is that some kid is not going to be responsible for his actions. Whether or not he helps pay, which he should, he is never going to know who exactly he has put out and what effect his actions have had. It took forever to clean up all the glass plus Cade's car seat is right next to where it happened not to mention the expense of fixing it. Also we had lots of traveling to do over the weekend plus an overnight rainstorm. This kid should be aware of what his actions have caused, which should cause some type of guilt, which should in turn make him more aware and cautious with his actions. But no-instead he is probably feeling giddy that he is getting away with a mistake he made. So frustrating.
