Life Update

It has been too long. Time for an update. Here are the random things in my head I feel like I need to document.
The biggest change so far has been Cade starting preschool. We chose to go with the Joy school program. Me and 4 other moms take turns teaching it. So about once a month I teach it and the other times I drop him off at the other homes. It is twice a week for about 2.5 hours in the morning. It has been good for him to have some place to go and be away consistently since he will be starting Kindergarten next year. I was originally wanting something more academic but he will have the rest of this life to have academic training. I also like that I still have a little control over his environment. It has also been fun to have some one-on-one time with Rylee. It has also been nice to "utilize" the time with only 1 child rather than two! Here is his first day of preschool picture.

We have been having beautiful weather lately. Perfect fall weather. We have had fun playing outside. Rylee had a sweet little girl moment. She was wearing her pink petty skirt and we were walking outside. As usual in Kansas it was windy. She stopped walking and looked down and said, "Look! Pink skirt moving!" She was thrilled to watch the wind move and twirl  her skirt around. It was really simple but very precious. And very fitting for this little girl.

A little bit more on Rylee: She is fully coming into her personality. She is at a stage where she plays independently really well. Her favorite things are lining up her dolls, lining up her markers, coloring, organizing other toys, and following Cade and doing whatever he does, and hiding. She loves to run and hide and be found. She is very sweet and very girly. She loves to wear skirts, hold babies, any kind of primping, and likes to have clean hands when she eats. She can also be pretty dramatic and stubborn. If her food is not presented the way she likes then she shuts down and won't eat. It is pretty funny right now. But hopefully doesn't last!

I traced the kids with chalk and then they traced me. Cade made sure to add lots of lipstick on mine. Not sure what that says about me...(notice Cade drew all purple clothes on his. Pretty sure he is getting the wrong school instilled into his mind. It has all been him. I might need to start getting all blue clothes for him!)

Cole has a lot of long days where he is gone in the evenings. I needed something fun for the evening (more for me than them!) so I let them each pick out a treat while we were at the fabric store that day and told them we were going to save them for after dinner. They were so excited. They pranced around and danced with their ring pops. It was cute to see them get so excited over something so small but out of the ordinary.

Our complex had Resident Appreciation Day at the zoo. It was such a pretty day so I tried to get the kids to sit still for a minute for some pictures.

Other than that just plain old life business. Cole is very busy with school and the branch. I have a craft show coming up. We are all very excited to have the chance to go to AZ soon. Cole has a conference in Phoenix which is just too close to Shanna to not have us all go!
