Daylight Savings Time

It is a good thing that church starts at 1:00 for me. I totally forgot about the time change. Earlier this week I knew it was coming up. But last night and this morning it was completely out of my mind. But to cut me some slack-Cole has been out of town since Thursday (he gets back tonight!) and I have been dealing with a sick little boy. With no one to remind me and all my efforts towards helping Cade (and stay sane with little sleep) it really was not on the forefront of my mind.

In the past, I have had serious issues with this whole time change thing.

When I was in Elementary school, for a few years in a row, when ever it came time to change the clocks I would be so confused. My issue: How does the sun know to come up later or earlier than it did the day before? I totally didn't get it. My dad would sit with me and try to explain over and over. He would even draw diagrams. I finally did realized that us as beings physically change the clocks. I know. Tough concept.

When daylight savings came around for the first time after Cole and I were married, we were near celebrating our 2 months of marriage. Old-timers. We were feeling on top of the world, independent, successful at living on our own, and that we could do no wrong. At that time we had church at 8:30. You guessed it. On this one particular Sunday we show up to church and could not figure out where everyone was. We kept looking at the clock and rubbing our eyes making sure we were seeing it right. Yup-still says 8:25. Then we keep staring at it hoping miraculously it would change to 7:30 to give us a reason why no one was there. It took a while of sitting there to figure it out. We were thoroughly embarrassed and not so on top of the world feeling. Luckily no one was there to witness it since everyone else was home where they should be.
Do you have a funny daylight savings story? Ooo leave a comment and do share!! (or maybe it is just us!)

Haha, that's so funny! Mine was actually this year! My alarm clock sets itself to the world clock. I wake up at 4:15 each day, and luckily my phone alarm was set from a while ago. I woke up and looked at my alarm clock saying 3:15 and was SO confused! I couldn't figure it out. Apparently we usually set our clocks a week earlier than we did this year, and it had already reset. Luckily my phone alarm saved me! And too bad I didn't get anpother hour of sleep like I thought I would when I saw 3:15! Nice to know it messes other people's schedules up too! :)

wait tell your kids get up no matter what. Kaitlyn and Em did not believe it was still bedtime 'cause their little bodies were wide awake! Tonight has been a pain keeping them up tell their bedtime too! They are so tired! I can't wait tell they get adjusted.

Matt and I totally waltzed in an hour late to Sacrament Meeting when it was Spring forward!!! We felt so embarrassed when we sat down and it was the closing song! We don't have cable, and nobody had reminded us!! Oops :)
